Central Zone — Deschutes River. Snake Zone — Snake River. In the Snake River from the Oregon/Washington state border, upstream to the boundary 400 ft below Hells Canyon dam: Effective September 23, 2026, through October 31, 2026: Hatchery Chinook salmon only with a bag limit of three adult hatchery Chinook (no limit on jacks) from Sept 23 to Oct 31. All other permanent rules for the Snake River Zone, as stated in the current annual Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations, remain in effect. Effective September 23, 2026, through December 31, 2026: Bag limit of two hatchery steelhead (reduced from three in the permanent regulations) from Sept 23 to Dec 31. All other permanent rules for the Snake River Zone, as stated in the current annual Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations, remain in effect. Northeast Zone — John Day River. In the John Day River from the mainline railroad bridge at the mouth of the Columbia and all sections upstream, including both the North and Middle Forks of the John Day River, as well as all tributaries: Effective September 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026: Angling for and retention of all steelhead is closed.

Southwest Zone — North Umpqua River. In the North Umpqua River from the mouth to the marker below Soda Springs Dam Effective August 10 through November 30, 2026: Angling for and retention of steelhead is closed All other permanent rules for the Southwest Zone, as stated in the current annual Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations, remain in effect
