The service
Season Alert monitors public agency pages (CDFW, CDPH, ODA, ODFW, NOAA) and emails you when something you watch changes. The site is a status board and a mail service — nothing here is a license, a permit, or official regulatory advice.
Check the source before you act
Every status and alert cites the agency notice it came from, and that notice is the authority — not us. Agencies post corrections, and pollers run on a schedule (minutes, not realtime). Verify the linked notice before making a fishing, gear or purchasing decision. You are responsible for knowing the regulations that apply to you.
Billing
Paid plans (Angler, Captain) are annual subscriptions that renew each season until you cancel, with a 3-day trial before the first charge. Cancel any time from the billing portal in your alerts page or by replying to any email; access continues to the end of the paid period. Prices can change for future seasons; renewals at the current price are confirmed by Stripe at checkout.
Acceptable use
Don’t resell or scrape the alert feed, and don’t forward your personal manage links — they control your account. Crew forwarding exists as a product feature precisely so nobody has to share credentials.
No government affiliation
Season Alert is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government agency. Agency names and data belong to their publishers.
Liability
The service is provided as-is. We work hard to catch every change and cite every source, but we can’t promise unbroken monitoring or perfect accuracy. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to what you paid in the last 12 months.
